Discover Sychrov Castle’s Exciting Autumn Events

Fairy Tales Featuring a Princess or a Devil

During the autumn, Sychrov Castle is known for its wonderful fairy tours. This upcoming weekend, specifically on November 8 and 9, there will be a fairy tale performance titled How (not) to Marry a Princess. This tale is inspired by another story called The Madly Sad Princess. The following weekend, on November 29 and 30, Sychrov will host its Advent markets, where families with kids can participate in Guided Tours with the Devil. This special tour, designed for children, lasts about 40 minutes and showcases the most stunning private and public areas of the castle. Adults are welcome to join but will only be there as companions, as the tour will not include detailed historical insights about the castle or its past owners.

Advent Markets and Christmas Tours

The previously mentioned Advent markets are extremely popular. This year’s markets are set for November 29 and 30, 2025. Various stalls will offer Christmas items like ornaments, candlesticks, glassware, ceramics, and more in the castle’s Court of Honour; meanwhile, visitors can enjoy food in the chateau park, where tents will be available for sampling delicious treats. You’ll find plenty of options, including sausages, potato pancakes, grilled meats, sweet pastries, mulled wine, coffee, mead, hot drinks, and other tasty treats that are staples at any market. Alongside the markets, there will be craft demonstrations and an exciting program of activities for both kids and adults. The festive atmosphere will be further enhanced by a nativity scene in the courtyard.

During the holiday season, from December 27, 2025, to January 1, 2026, the castle will offer guided tours showcasing the beautifully decorated Christmas interiors, featuring original historic nativity scenes and Christmas trees adorned with unique handmade painted ornaments.
