Don’t Miss Out: Hřensko Competitions End Early November
Magical Boat Ride on the Kamenice River is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy this experience not just during the peak summer months but also in autumn. You can visit Contest only until the first weekend in November, which is the 2nd of November 2025. The last boat leaving from Edmund’s (Silent) Gorge heads towards Hřensko at 17:00 and towards Mezná at 16:30. After being closed for three years due to a fire, Edmund’s Gorge reopened on 19 July 2025. To reach it, take a path from Hřensko through the Kamenice valley to the boat platform. The boat trip itself is well worth it, as the ferrymen provide humorous commentary. There is a limit of 50 visitors per day, and you must be accompanied by a guide to participate. Strollers are not allowed, and dogs must be muzzled.
In the Wild Gorge, the final boat will leave for Hřensko at 16:00 hrs., while the boat to Mezní Louka leaves at 15:30. The last trips here will also be on November 2, 2025. Following that, seasonal operations in these two areas will resume again next year in April.
Suggestions for visits to Pravčická Gate and Dolský Mill
For those looking to explore this beautiful area, we suggest taking a tour along the yellow trail that starts in Hřensko and leads to the first dock in Tichá Gorge. After your boat cruise, you can climb the green trail at the Intermediate Bridge to Mezná and take a scenic route around Mezní meadow with a visit to Pravčická Gate before returning to Hřensko. If you plan to continue sailing into the Wild Gorge, be prepared for a more demanding hike. From the dock, you’ll need to climb up to the High Bridge, and from there, follow the blue trail to Vysoké Lípa. The blue path leads you back to the Kamenice River, ending at Dolský mlýn. From there, keep going along the yellow marker to the village Pink (which features the new lookout tower Růženka), and if you follow the green marker, it will guide you to the Limit Bridge, which is a short walk away from Edmund’s Gorge, where you can take a boat back to Hřensko.
