Discover Excitement: Join the Autumn Medieval Festival at Archaeological Park Liboc

As part of the International Day of Archaeology, the Liboc Archaeopark is hosting a classic Autumn Medieval Festival! This year, the event will embrace the theme of the Luxembourg period. The festivities will commence at 1:00 p.m. and will wrap up around 5:00 p.m. During this time, visitors can enjoy performances illustrating medieval life put on by the W-Arlet group. There will also be demonstrations of traditional crafts, showcases of historical armor and weapons, updates from the world of Archaeology, and tasty period-inspired refreshments. Guests can savor old Czech goulash, typical cabbage rolls, and delicious apple pie, all complemented by a special beer, refreshing lemonade, or spring water. The band Musica Vagantium will be entertaining with period music.

The park features reconstructions of medieval homes and farm buildings situated in the Liboc area of Prague 6. These structures have been recreated based on remains found during archaeological investigations of the site’s earlier settlement near the Church of St. Peter at Poříčí. The second section of the park showcases a detailed reproduction of a late medieval farmstead. Within this enclosed area, you will also discover a well with a wooden structure, a granary with a thatched roof, a bread oven, and a corral, which served both as a storage area for hay and a place for manure. To reach the park easily, you should take trams 1 or 2 to their terminal stop (Sídliště Petřiny), and then use bus numbers 168, 191, or 108, getting off at the Libocká stop. The archaeopark is located about 60 meters from this stop on Šebestiánská Street.
