From Austrian Ball to Czech Ball

At the stunning Žofín Palace, you can enjoy the elegant Austrian Ball, which creates a truly unique atmosphere. This year, you can dance to beautiful music until the early hours on Friday 23 January 2026. The talented Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Josef Hlavsa Orchestra, and the charming “Czech Sinatra,” Jan Smigmator, will perform. The disco in the Small Hall will fill the air with modern rhythms to get you dancing. There will also be wonderful “taxi” dancers available to dance with ladies who come alone or give your partner a break. You can look forward to exceptional Austrian wines, bubbly champagne, and delicious tapas for a fantastic evening. So, get ready for “Alles Walzer!”

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, the Czech-Slovak Ball will celebrate yet another year of social grace, culture, and friendship. The twelfth edition of this ball will take place in the Municipal House, a true gem of Prague’s Art Nouveau architecture. As always, it will attract notable figures from the arts, sciences, business, diplomacy, and politics. Look forward to performances by Lucie Bílá, Tublatanka, Lucia Šoralová, Michal Penk, and the Gustav Brom Radio Big Band to kick off the evening.

On Saturday 21 February 2026, the Czech Ball at the Municipal House will be the highlight of the Czech ball season. Expect a unique program featuring top Czech artists who are highly regarded in their fields. Don’t miss a mouth-watering menu from Vyšehrad 2000, and certainly try the outstanding Czech wine from the Bunjoch and son winery. An important part of the Czech Ball tradition is the auction for three specially selected disabled children.

Proms with a touch of Stardance

On Saturday, February 27, 2026, the National House in Vinohrady will shine for the Prague Dance Gala Ball. A fantastic orchestra and big band will provide the music for dancing, and winners from the dance competition will perform StarDance. If you choose a ticket for the “dancing tables,” the professional dancers will make sure you’re on the dance floor in no time.

Immediately following, on Sunday, March 1, 2026, the Senior Stardance Ball will take place, featuring the exciting Senior Stardance finals for the year 2025/26. The jury will consist of judges from the StarDance competition, including Kateřina Bartuněk – Hrstková and Dominik Vodička. The entire afternoon will be hosted by Jitka Šorfová. There will also be a chance for all attendees to participate in a group dance.

Historical balls

Alongside the traditional balls, there are also historical balls that can transport you back in time by several centuries. On Saturday, January 10, 2026, the School of Old Dance will host the visually captivating Emmaus Abbey’s medieval-style Shrovetide Ball. A full evening of historical activities is planned, showcasing dances from both noble royal and bourgeois styles. Attendees can choose costumes from the fashion trends of 1250 to 1530, and a medieval feast will surely be memorable!

The Rudolphine Ball at the New Town Hall on Saturday 24 January 2026 will whisk you away to the social entertainments of the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Dances such as branle, galliard, spagnoletta, and volta will be performed to beautiful period music. If you’re unfamiliar with these dances, it’s okay! You can still enjoy the atmosphere and tantalizing dishes inspired by our ancestors’ cuisine. Just remember, wearing a costume from the European Renaissance or early Baroque period is required.
