Enigmatic Halloween Destinations Awaiting Adults

Halloween celebrations stem from an ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain, which is comparable to what we now think of as New Year. The Celts recognized Samhain as the transition from summer to winter and as a time when the worlds of the living and the dead were intertwined. According to tradition, on the last night of October, the spirits of the deceased would come back home to ask for assistance from their family in crossing over to the afterlife. To help these souls find their way, people would light lanterns made from hollowed-out beets, which were eventually substituted with pumpkins, as they were more plentiful.
In larger cities like Prague, Brno, or Ostrava, bars, clubs, and cultural venues host themed events featuring music, dancing, and costume contests. There are also growing numbers of Halloween tours at castles and chateaus, complete with spooky stories and a magical atmosphere in these historical settings.
