Discover the Thrill of the Run Valachy
On Saturday October 25, the spotlight will shine on runners in the Beskydy region, specifically Velké Karlovice. In the Lésková valley, close to the Galik Hotel, the customary Run Valachy race is set to unfold. This event serves as the grand finale of this year’s Datart Valachy tour series. Organizers have arranged routes appealing to both adults and children. You can still sign up at valachytour.cz, and registration is also allowed on the race day at the event location. The Galik Hotel, where the race occurs, is surrounded by diverse terrain that’s ideal for running, and it also has facilities for snacks, relaxation, and changing clothes.
The main event, Run Valachy, is designed for more experienced runners and will cover 12.5 km with an elevation gain of 350 metres. Participants will run through the Velika Hanzlůvka valley, navigating the sharp trails of Beskydy as they ascend to the bell tower Za Miloňovou, pass over Polana hill, and stop at the Na Člověčí lookout point. For those who prefer an easier experience, a shorter 6.5 km track with a maximum elevation gain of 200 metres is also available. If you enjoy running in nature, you will be thrilled with the forest pathways that offer views of the countryside, especially now in autumn when the landscape is ablaze with colors.
Additionally, the Family Pairs Race will return, covering 3.2 km with an elevation gain of 80 m. This race invites teams of one child aged 9 to 15 years old and one adult 18 years or older. Come join the Family Run for an unforgettable shared experience of athletic achievement and emotional moments at the finish line. Young competitors can look forward to separate children’s races across six age categories, with distances ranging from 100 meters to 1.8 km. There will also be an accompanying program, culminating in the announcement of the series’s overall winners. Children’s races are scheduled to start at 9:30 am, while the adult races kick off at 12:00 pm.
