Staré Hrady Castle and Chateau welcomes you to explore the castle during the autumn holidays. Both young and old can step into the magical realm of Archibald the wizard’s stories. You and your kids will enjoy a lot of fairy-tale adventures, including competitions, games, and surprises, suited for all ages, happening daily from October 25 to 29</strong, 2025. This castle is home to many kinds of dragons! You can meet rock, fire, water, forest, night, mud, sand, snow, thunder, gold, and many other types of dragons, along with dragon princesses and knights. A courageous knight, a lovely princess, a playful witch, or even a sly devil will guide you through the kingdom. Then, you’ll get to stroll through the enchanting dungeon on a fairy-tale trail.

You will also have the chance to meet His Majesty the Dragon King Rosebud XVI himself, along with his wife, Mayorlinda, and three lovely dragon princesses: Lajdalina, Trajdalina, and Rozcaplina. Delve into the secrets of the Giant Emerald Dragons in the Castle’s Fairy Tale Cellar, and work with the incredible thirty-two-foot-tall wizard Mighty Mighty and the Giant Ruby Dragons to uncover the mysteries of the potions and elixirs at the Castle Fairyland. You will be accompanied by a brave knight, a lovely princess, a cheerful witch or a playful witch. The fairy dungeons are open for you to explore by yourself like a fairy tale adventure. Come and visit the autumn fairy tale kingdom of Archibald I, the wizard from Old Hradec Králové, and enjoy lots of delightful surprises and fun activities for everyone.

Dragons, witches, and magical creatures in the Old Town

Staré Hrady Castle and Chateau now features five unique tours that immerse you in an original Czech fairy tale. For example, you can explore the secrets of the Giant Emerald Dragons in the Castle’s Fairy Tale Cellar – these dragons have truly made this castle their home! You can meet dragons like rock, fire, water, forest, night, mud, sand, snow, thunder, gold, and more, along with dragon princesses and knights.

You will also find the dragon Ruler of Hailstorm, the fairy Vitamin, goblins from Candy Kingdom, and even a dragon maternity room, a dental clinic for dragons, and many different creatures, including mythical Starflight. There are thrilling fairy tale adventures to be had on the Castle Fairyland tour, where all sorts of witches and wizards reside. They have a unique attic laundry room, a soap-making area, a witch’s tavern, and a wardrobe. You might even stumble upon A fairy time machine and plenty of playful elves.

There are lots of live animals, pests, and other creatures cared for by kind local witches in Witches’ besties. Here, you’ll also meet characters like Grandpa Dung Beetle, Kaditlačka the spider, Kolohnáta the witch, and many more!
