The closing event for the season at the Salvayovy lomy open-air museum is set for Saturday October 25, 2025. This day promises a full schedule of fun activities for people of all ages, featuring both regular and extraordinary train rides along the museum’s tracks. Visitors will get the chance to see unique locomotives in action that are not typically part of the regular rides. Train departures are planned for 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 4:00 pm. Be sure to catch the Bronhilda steam locomotive experience, which will only be available on Saturday, October 25, 2025, with only a diesel train operating on Sunday, October 26, weather allowing.
You won’t want to miss the museum exhibition tours, available every hour from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Additionally, there will be guided tours of the underground (adits) during these same hours. Access to the underground sections is only allowed with a tour guide who will meet visitors at the tunnel entrance, and you must have a ticket to the exhibition to enter the underground. You can satisfy your hunger and thirst with refreshments available at the “tram”.
Sunday, October 26 marks the final day of the season for this year. Those interested are encouraged to visit the Solvay Mines area, where passenger train rides will follow the Sunday timetable. The museum and underground tours will be open from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. After this date, the open-air museum will remain closed until it reopens in the spring of 2026.
