Explore the Bozkov Dolomite Caves This Winter

The Bozkov Caves are one of the most fascinating attractions, featuring greenish pools and lakes that partially fill the underground areas. The bottoms of these lakes are scattered with small coins that visitors throw in for luck. The caves maintain an average temperature of around seven degrees throughout the year. The sightseeing route spans about half a kilometer and lasts approximately three quarters of an hour with a guided tour. With a total length of 1,118 meters and a vertical range (denivelation) of 43 meters, these caves are recognized as the longest dolomite caves in the Czech Republic.

The underground spaces of Bozkov were discovered quite accidentally during blasting in a small dolomite quarry back in 1947. Following this discovery, the caves have been accessible to the public since 1968. They were designated as a protected area in 1999, now referred to as a national natural monument. Every year, roughly 70,000 visitors from around the world come to see it. During times when the caves are not open, visits can be arranged in advance with the cave management, depending on operational conditions. A minimum of ten paying visitors is required for group tours. The admission fee for the caves is 200 CZK for adults, and youth and seniors are charged 160 CZK.
