Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort Gears Up for Winter with a Flexible Season Pass

ski spindlAs winter approaches, the preparations for the ski season 2025/26 are in full swing at the Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort. This resort, the largest in the Giant Mountains, continues to link the Svatý Petr and Medvědín ski areas this year. If you haven’t had a chance yet to experience the new downhill runs, come visit Špindl this season and try them out! There are two slopes located in Hromovka and Medvědín, named Reservoir and Forest, totaling 2,500 meters in length, with plans for future extensions.

The blue ski slope in Svatý Petr has been improved, making it wider and more comfortable to ride. Significant upgrades have also been made to the 2023 Water ski slope, which has historically functioned as the access route connecting Horní Mísečky with the Medvědín lower station. This slope has been expanded to twice its original width and now features modern snowmaking technology. With a new length of nearly three kilometers, it is currently the longest ski slope in Špindlerův Mlýn.

Additionally, new water pumping technology has been installed to ensure consistent snowmaking throughout the season sourced from the Elbe dam.

Ski ŠpindlLast year, the Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort earned recognition from an international jury in the prestigious global competition of winter resorts known as the World Ski Awards 2024. This competition attracts esteemed ski resorts from around the globe each year. Votes are cast by both leading experts in the ski and mountain hotel industry and hundreds of thousands of members of the public, determining the final rankings for ski areas, resort operators, and hotels. The Czech Republic was first included in this competition in 2023, with the Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort successfully defending its title as the top Czech resort. Nominations for the year 2025 have already been announced, and the local resort remains in contention.

Connecting the campuses

In 2023, efforts began to gradually connect the previously separate areas of Horní Mísečky and Svatý Petr. A key development in this was the installation of a footbridge over the Elbe River, which took place on November 4, 2025, using the largest crane in the Czech Republic.

In the spring of 2026, a brand-new six-seat chairlift will be constructed from the P1 parking lot to Hromovka, aimed to be operational for skiers by December 2026.

With this connection, skiers will be able to choose slopes based on their skills and desires, rather than being restricted by the ability to move between different ski areas.

The latest downhill tracks: Dam, Forest, and Waterworks

Ski SpindleAs part of the ongoing merging of the ski areas in Špindlerův Mlýn, several new slopes have been renovated and created for skiers starting in 2023. The new red ski slope called “Dam” begins at the upper station of Hromovka. This slope has a beautiful profile and offers a fantastic skiing experience, although it does not yet extend all the way to the bottom. Halfway down, skiers will join the hiking trail, which has been adapted so that visitors can easily return to the lower station of the Hromovka cable car from the Přehradní ski slope. Later, the red “Přehradní” will connect to the new Labská cable car, enhancing connectivity between areas, creating a total of over 1,500 meters and improving skiing options in Špindlerův Mlýn significantly.

The second ski slope named Forest is also available for skiers and snowboarders at Medvědín. Skiers can access it by turning off the red slope, leading into a new blue-marked trail, which crosses the Vodovodní slope. Once the new cable car is built in the next phase, it will directly connect the red-blue ski slope to its lower station.

ski spindleThe trail, known as Water, has historically served as a route connecting Mísečky with the Medvědín lower station. Originally a path that was only skiable when there was sufficient snow, this has now evolved into a slope that is twice as wide and essentially a completely new blue slope equipped with state-of-the-art snowmaking technology. In addition, because blue slopes are popular, the ski area managers prioritize making snow for these slopes at the start of the winter season.

The winter season at the largest and most renowned ski resort in the country is set to kick off on December 13, 2025, featuring the traditional event of Špindl Ski Opening, which promises tons of fun and skiing with various accompanying activities.

If you don’t use up the value of your season pass, no worries—the difference will be refunded to your goX cashback. If you don’t tap into the value, you’ll get to ski for free for the rest of the season. The cheapest option went on sale in May, with additional sales planned through November.
