Think You’ve Seen It All? Discover the Autumn Harvest of the Festival of the Hardened Spectator—Prepare to Be Amazed!

This year’s autumn special of the Festival of the Hardened Spectator will be held at the Aero Cinema in Prague 3, featuring a wonderfully chaotic selection of various films, each of which can be placed somewhere along the imaginary spectrum of being brilliant or utterly terrible, or they might just be all over the place.
If you’re eager to catch every screening, save some cash, and guarantee a seat that’s just for you during the entire festival, be sure to find your spot and buy a pass for Autumn Harvest.
The Festival of the Hardened Spectator will kick off on Friday at 6 p.m. with a British movie featuring subtitles titled Frankenpaw. Next, at 8:30 p.m., we’ll have Deathgasm II: Masomlejn. On Saturday, the show will start at 3 pm with the film The Bulging Eyeball, which will have Czech dubbing. The Latvian movie with subtitles Dog of God will begin at 5:15 p.m. then switched out by VampireRaids (with Czech dubbing) at 7:40 p.m. The Saturday lineup will wrap up with the film Ducháček gets drunk, a Hong Kong movie with subtitles. If you miss the screening of VampireRaids on Saturday, don’t worry; you can watch it on Sunday instead. That showing is set for 3:20 p.m. Then at 5:30 p.m., it’ll be the English version of VampireRaids. The whole program of the Festival of the Hardened Spectator will conclude with a repeat showing of Eyeballs Rolled Out at 8:00 p.m. Titles like Frankenfoot, The Rolled Out Eyeball, and VampireRaids are suitable for ages 15 and up, while Deathgasm II: Masomlejn, Dog of God, and Ghostbusters are for ages 18 and up.
Fans of all genres, gather together!
If you’re familiar with Prague’s Aero cinema, you might sense something unusual here—battle-hardened viewers just don’t quite fit in at a cinema that showcases great films and is one of the oldest film clubs in the Czech Republic. The Aero regularly hosts attractive night screenings, including previews and premieres of newly released films, along with handpicked screenings that enrich the program with talks from lecturers and one-of-a-kind events. And this is the key point—the Festival of the Hardened Spectator is an incredible occasion packed with films that break the usual rules of film aesthetics and go beyond what typical moviegoers expect, making it an event you absolutely can’t miss at Aero. So when you read in the festival program about so-called unbearable cinema, just relax. Here, they host a showcase of bizarre films in a wonderfully casual and sophisticated manner.
There’s hardly anything that compares to watching a horror movie or a hilariously absurd film among three hundred fellow fans. Instead of quietly appreciating cinematic artistry, you’ll experience showings where the space is alive with laughter or terrified cries, enjoying films from old formats like VHS and VCD, along with the works themselves. Entry for the classic film showings during the main portion of the Festival of the Hardened Spectator comes with a single admission fee of 180,- CZK. Tickets for more elaborate titles with live dubbing or interactive elements can be purchased for 220,- CZK. All tickets are assigned to specific seats within the auditorium.
