PAP Issues Apology for Travel Misinformation Regarding Czechia: CzechTourism’s Polish Initiative Sparks Correction

Some Czech media contradicted the original report, claiming that the Polish Foreign Ministry recommended avoiding travel to the Czech Republic. However, this information was not accurate.

The Polish News Agency’s correction clarifies that the rise in hepatitis A cases does not warrant canceling trips to Czechia. Travelers are not at heightened risk as long as they follow basic hygiene rules. The agency also referenced official statements from Czech institutions and the CzechTourism representative in Poland.

„Poles are very welcome guests in Czechia. Moreover, they are among the most frequent visitors to our country. In September alone, the number of Polish tourists choosing to visit increased by 33 percent year-on-year. This underscores how attractive our country is to them,“ stated Tomáš Zukal, Director of the Foreign Representation of CzechTourism in Poland.

CzechTourism appreciates the swift response from PAP and the published apology, which helped correct the information and uphold Czechia’s reputation as a safe destination for foreign tourists.
