Discover a Sparkling Wonderland and Enchanted Night Jungle at Troja’s Botanical Garden This Advent

The Botanical Garden of the City of Prague provides a wide range of enjoyable experiences even during the winter months. It showcases the various greens of coniferous trees and evergreens along with bright color highlights. The bushes are adorned with fruits in shades of red, orange, yellow, and purple. The natural colors of the plants are beautifully complemented by stunning glass creations from the glassmaker Jiří Pačink’s workshop.
Fairytale Crystal Garden in Troja
The Crystal Garden exhibition enhances the Ornamental garden and nearby exhibits, and guests can experience it at the Botanical Garden from 28 November 2025 to 2 February 2026. This second edition of the Crystal Garden will feature new pieces created especially for the Botanical Garden, alongside the most loved objects from the first year. Guests can again look forward to fantastic displays, vibrant glass flowers, and sculptures inspired by animals, which contrast beautifully with the winter scenery. New additions will include glass representations of endangered plant species like the coneflower and the starflower, as part of the thematic display Ark of the Crystalline. A glass rock garden filled with flowers like daffodils, bluebells, and tulips will also be featured. The beloved flamingos will now be joined by eagles and bison. The new exhibition edition will showcase works by talented students from the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Kamenický Šenov. The school’s management, together with Jiří Pačink, has chosen three student designs that the glassmakers from Pačinek Glass will turn into new creations, including carnivorous plants, mushrooms, and a blooming liana. Daily tours are available during normal hours from Monday to Sunday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The evening illuminated exhibition can be visited from Thursday to Sunday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The ticket prices for evening tours are the same as for regular entry to the Botanical Garden: adults pay 180 CZK, children aged 3 to 15 have a reduced fee of 120 CZK, and seniors over 60 pay 95 CZK. Visitors can also purchase smaller items and decorations from Jiří Pačink’s workshop on-site.
The jungle that does not sleep in the Fata Morgana greenhouse
Experiencing a tropical rainforest at night is a rare opportunity. In the greenhouse Fata Morgana , you can enjoy this unique experience. For the winter season, the Botanical Garden of the City of Prague is offering popular evening guided tours through the dimly lit areas of the Fata Morgana greenhouse, called The jungle that doesn’t sleep. A nighttime visit provides an entirely different feel compared to the daytime. Some plants bloom at night and emit intoxicating scents, while the greenhouse resonates with the sounds of tropical frogs. The Fata Morgana Greenhouse acts as a lively oasis filled with greenery in winter, mirroring the climate of faraway exotic landscapes. These special tours run until 13 December, last about an hour, and are primarily designed for adults and older children. It’s essential to secure your spot in advance by completing a simple form on the Botanical Garden’s website. You also need to buy an online ticket for the time slot you reserved. Ticket prices are 250 CZK for adults, and for children aged 3 to 15, it’s 150 CZK. The Botanical Garden of the City of Prague has numerous offerings throughout the winter season—as classic winter tours are available until end of February 2026.
Tastes of the Troja Vineyard
Wine enthusiasts and fans of Troja’s St. Clare Vineyard should not miss the public tastings hosted by a local wine shop. Until 14 December 2025, every Sunday welcomes visitors at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM for an insider’s view of wine production. The Sunday Cellar program will feature a tour of the vineyard and cellar, followed by a small tasting. Visitors will get firsthand insights into where the grapes are processed and get to sample wines that are entirely made in the Botanical Garden. The cellar spans 200 m² and is divided into three sections. The first includes modern stainless steel equipment for grape processing—a mill-stopper, a peristaltic pump, a pneumatic membrane press, and a vinifier. The second section contains stainless steel tanks equipped with a controlled fermentation system, and provides various filtering, bottling, and labeling options. The last section showcases a representative storage area along with oak barrels where red and white wines are aged.
