Each tour will last between 30 to 40 minutes, available from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Era of Duchess Zaháňská in Ratibořice
During the Christmas tours, you can also join a basic tour titled The Age of the Duchess of Zahan. This tour showcases the salons that date back to the Classical, Empire, and Biedermeier periods. The furnishings will take you back to the peak of Ratibořice’s history when the Katherine Vilemína, Duchess Zaháňská, Princess Kuronská, was influential. The relatively modest country home of the Duchess, known as the famous “Lady Princess,” was a gathering spot for key politicians and statesmen during the Napoleonic Wars, shaping Europe’s future for many years. The Duchess also had the pleasure of hosting several noted artists. The chateau features remarkable paintings from the 16th to the 19th century, and you can admire collections of European porcelain and glass. The Old Bleach House will be beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of the time featured in Bozena Nemcova’s Grandmother.
