A standout moment of the season is the blessing of the Czech Republic’s largest Advent wreath on November 29, 2025. This magnificent wreath will be proudly displayed at the fountain within the courtyard. Throughout December, the castle provides numerous Advent tours and special programs for children, establishing an unforgettable holiday atmosphere for all ages.
Majestic Gothic Karlštejn Castle
The iconic Karlštejn Castle, a stunning example of Gothic architecture, will be beautifully decorated with festive Advent adornments, evoking the charm and traditions of bygone eras. Guests can soak in this unique seasonal ambiance on the standard tour route, The Imperial Residence of Charles IV, while learning about the holiday customs tied to this historic site. Tours will run from 28 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, available every Friday through Sunday. Don’t miss the chance to celebrate the season within the majestic walls of the Imperial Palace.
A Royal Christmas at Třeboň Château
Immerse yourself in the captivating Christmas ambiance of Třeboň Château, situated amidst a one-of-a-kind UNESCO-listed pond landscape, a cherished holiday residence for the renowned Czech-German-Austrian noble House of Schwarzenberg. Special guided tours will be offered from 29 November 2025 to 2 January 2026 (Thursday to Sunday), featuring costumed tours titled The Last Prince’s Christmas on 13–14 December 2025. Families can also join Children’s Tours from 30 December 2025 to 2 January 2026 (11:00–14:30). Additionally, revel in the cheerful atmosphere at the Advent château markets in the courtyard on 6 and 7 December 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m..

Christmas and New Year Celebrations at Sychrov Château
Add excitement to the week between Christmas and New Year by visiting the splendid example of neo-Gothic architecture at Sychrov Château! The rooms will be adorned with festive decorations, featuring Christmas trees, hand-blown and painted ornaments, and the delightful aroma of freshly baked cookies. The traditional Advent Markets will take place on 29–30 November 2025 in the main courtyard, with stalls selling Christmas goods, decorations, and a dining area in the castle park where you can enjoy seasonal treats.
The château also hosts a special Devil Tour on 29–30 November 2025, Christmas Tours on 6–7, 13–14, and 20–21 December 2025, a festive Christmas Concert on 26 December 2025, and a Christmas Castle Walk from 27 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

Christmas at Valtice Château: A UNESCO Gem
From 11 November to 23 December 2025, visitors can embark on a self-guided tour of the period apartment of Franz I, Prince of Liechtenstein, adorned in all its Christmas splendor at Valtice Château, part of the Lednice–Valtice Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO Heritage Site. The interiors of this famous Baroque palace will be festooned with 10 Christmas trees and thousands of handcrafted decorations sourced from glass workshops across the Czech Republic.
Delight in numerous period decorations, including exquisite UNESCO blown beads from Rautis, Art Nouveau collections from the Koulier workshop, retro-style ornaments, and an array of sparkling fine details. On 6 and 13 December 2025, you’ll have the unique opportunity to create your own Christmas decorations – be sure to book your spot in the château workshop in advance!

Christmas Spectacle at Hrádek u Nechanic Castle
The enchanting Hrádek u Nechanic Castle, built in the Windsor Gothic style, becomes a magical wonderland as Christmas approaches. The lovely palace will be beautifully decorated for the festive season from 28 November to 14 December 2025. It will welcome guests on the weekends of 29–30 November, 6–7 December, and 13–14 December 2025, operating daily from 9:00 to 16:00 without the need for prior reservations. However, group visits will require bookings.
Advent Concerts:
Saturdays: 29 November, 6 and 13 December 2025 – at 18:00 and 19:30.
Advent Markets:
Sundays: 30 November, 7 and 14 December 2025 – from 9:00 to 16:00.
During the Advent walks, guides will share fascinating tales about the first decorations placed on trees, traditional Christmas Eve dinners, and a host of other intriguing facts regarding this most joyous time of year. You’ll have the chance to admire dozens of nutcrackers and nativity scenes. The castle kitchen will be open during Advent, allowing you to savor authentic English punch. Moreover, on Fridays 28 November, 5 and 12 December 2025 (at 16.00 and 20.00), relish the unique experience of the castle by candlelight – prior reservations are required for these evening tours.

Advent Days in Jindřichův Hradec
The majestic castle and chateau in Jindřichův Hradec, located in South Bohemia, is a time-honored favorite during the Advent season. With theater performances, dance, music, artisan markets, and a myriad of festive activities, you can relive the Advent spirit against the splendid backdrop of the castle and chateau on the weekend of 6 and 7 December 2025.

Advent Tours at Villa Stiassni: Celebrating Diversity Under One Roof
While the Brno Villa Stiassni isn’t a traditional castle or château, it has elements reminiscent of one. Constructed at a time when the aristocracy favored smaller, more civilian-style residences, it exudes elegance typical of the 1920s and 1930s. Visitors can expect traditional decorations during the Advent and Christmas tours, featuring a Christmas tree embellished with replicas of historical ornaments made of blown glass pearls, listed in the prestigious UNESCO register. Additionally, there will be an exhibition showcasing period toys.

The tradition of celebrating Christmas in this villa began during the First Republic, despite it being established by a Jewish textile entrepreneur’s family. Christmas Magic at Dětenice Castle
Experience unforgettable holiday moments at the romantic Dětenice Castle, which transforms into a true Christmas fairytale each December. The castle opens its doors every day, enchantingly decorated for the festive season, inviting you into a realm filled with twinkling lights, fragrant pines, and the warmth of holiday cheer.
On December 6, 2025, from 12:00–15:00, celebrate with the St. Nicholas Celebration for Children, featuring St. Nicholas, angels, and devils, along with delightful gifts, engaging activities, and a cheerful holiday program for guests of all ages. In the evening of December 6 & 13, 2025, the Krampus Show in the Medieval Tavern entertains with fire, drums, folklore performances, and a hearty medieval-style dinner. On December 13, 2025, the Christmas Food Festival in the castle park features live music, traditional food stalls serving roasted chestnuts, smoked carp, Christmas egg liqueur, cupcakes, shrimps, roasted turkeys, and more, all wrapped in a cozy, fireside ambiance.
