Embark on a Journey Through Děčín’s Devil’s Zoo this December’s First Saturday! Can the Kids Unearth the Enchanted Embers?

The Devil's DevilBring your children for a thrilling and exciting experience filled with a journey filled with devilish challenges. During the activities, kids will learn fun tasks like going down to the cellar to fetch coal, trimming the devil’s hoof, painting a devil on a wall, picking fleas from a coat, and even weighing their improper acts on hell’s scales.

On the first Saturday of December, Zoo Děčín transforms into a thrilling hell

Kids who complete all these fun tasks will not only receive a gift from St. Nicholas but will also get to enjoy delicious treats cooked over a flame. The afternoon will feature an adventurous hunt for magical coal that the devils lost overnight, which St. Nicholas needs to light the Christmas tree.

There will be a total of ten challenging devil-themed spots where children can accomplish simple activities and earn symbols guiding them to find the hidden embers. If they successfully locate the coals, they will be rewarded by St. Nicholas. If he thinks they have gathered enough magic coals, he will light the Christmas tree at 4 PM. The zoo has treats prepared for the first 200 children.

The event will also feature free cooking of sausages for competing children. Other visitors should bring their own or can buy refreshments served by the devil in charge – zoo director Roman Rehak. He will personally be making a delightful devil’s goulash and selling devilish sausages. There will also be tasty drinks available, such as free tea from Valdemar Grešík, plus mulled wine, beer, and raspberry sauce for purchase. The entrance fee for this event will be 80 CZK for children and 120 CZK for adults.

The Christmas festivities at the zoo will not only kick off with the Devil’s Roar, but will also feature bright Christmas lights, a Christmas tree, and a nativity scene, complete with a letterbox for children to send their secret wishes to Santa Claus until Christmas Eve. Additionally, visitors can enjoy free entry on Christmas Eve, December 24th. This is a great opportunity to come and pass the time while waiting for Santa or to bring food gifts (like hard bread, apples, carrots, nuts, etc.). The zoo becomes a wonderful destination where families can relish the holiday spirit with the animals during December.
