At Zákupy Castle, festive guided tours are available both before and during Christmas. From 3 November to until 23 December 2025, you can join a winter tour, and on specific dates, you can also enjoy Advent tours of the beautifully decorated Zákupy Castle. Experience the unique charm of the Christmas-themed interiors and take in the festive atmosphere while observing the Habsburgs’ Christmas decorations on the tour titled “Castle under Emperor Franz Joseph I.” During these special tours, not only will the interiors be transformed, but the decorations and the guide’s narrative will also change.

In Pardubice, the Litomyšl Castle is filled with delightful scents and decorations, featuring the chapel with its intricately carved folk nativity scene. The guides will share stories about how Christmas was celebrated at Litomyšl Castle, as well as at the imperial court, and whether the nobility kept their servants in mind during the festivities. Over the weekend of 20 and 21 December 2025, the castle kitchen will spring to life, offering visitors a chance to taste some culinary delights. Christmas Fair in Bastion IV is a beloved event hosted by the Artistic Colony Bastion IV, an art group based within the historic fortress of Josefov. Once a military site, the artistic association has transformed it into a unique venue, enhanced by beautiful traditional Bohemian Christmas decorations. This event includes a variety of entertainment such as concerts, theatrical performances, and creative workshops for kids, as well as opportunities to try different crafts, ride a pony, and visit the Toy Museum.

At the Třeboň Castle, students of economics and art will present a traditional Christmas sales exhibition of their handmade products as part of their educational practice. Come and admire the work of these creative young individuals or simply pick out a Christmas gift. The exhibition in the castle gallery is open during weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm, and on weekends until 3 pm. As expected, you will find many truly unique products, and if any catch your eye, you can purchase it on the spot, whether as a gift or for yourself. There will also be installations in areas that are usually closed to the public. It’s become a tradition for the students to accompany the exhibition as well.

Visitors will immerse themselves in the charming atmosphere of Wallachian Christmas customs at the Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, where a Christmas Fair takes place on Saturday and Sunday 13 and 14 December 2025. Additionally, you can explore how Advent and Christmas were celebrated in earlier times at the comprehensive Folk Christmas exhibition at the open-air museum in Přerov nad Labem, which runs until 28 December 2025, or visit Bethlehem near Hlinsko, where festive decorations and a Nativity exhibition can be admired until 10 January 2026. The Museum of Folk Buildings in Kourim will showcase Advent and Christmas exhibitions until 30 December 2025. During the Advent Sunday on December 21, 2025, guests will discover how previous generations prepared for the Christmas celebrations and the open-air museum will revive ancient customs and Advent figures! Joyful carols will be sung, featuring traditional Advent tunes performed by the joyful figures from folklore like Lucek and the feared Perchta. Adults and children will enjoy Christmas craft workshops, where hosts in historic buildings will share stories about the traditions surrounding Advent and Christmas. Visitors will learn fascinating information about customs from both Czech and German heritage found in the Sudeten area of the Subcruz Mountains.
