The first tour of Karlštejn Castle welcomes visitors to “The Imperial Residence of Charles IV.“. During this visit, you will explore the historical rooms of the Imperial Palace and the lower sections of the Marian Tower, which feature furnishings ranging from the 14th to the 19th century. On this tour, you will also walk through The Courtiers’ Hall, the Knights’ Hall that includes the Chapel of St. Nicholas, the Deanery, The Royal Bedchamber, and both the Audience and Feast Hall, along with the Hall of the Ancestors, the Treasury, and what used to be the castle’s prison. An important highlight on this route is a replica of the Czech St. Wenceslas Crown. You can also visit the Well Tower, which features a 78 m deep castle well that showcases a unique method for extracting water from it.
Alternatively, you can experience Karlštejn in a different way using an audio guide. This offers an independent tour of the open-access areas of the castle while using a mobile audio guide on your phone.
