Černá Studnice is the cradle of sledging

černá studniceThe tourist track from Černá Studnice crosses the road at one point to the hamlet of Berany. Here you will find a warning to get off and cross the road safely. Černá Studnice is one of the cradles of sledging in Czechia. On 1 January 1911, a tourist and racing sledge track was opened here, which ended in Jablonec. People used to go on trips to Černá Studnice, have a meal and grog there, borrow sledges and ride down on them. They returned the sleds in Jablonec, and when a large pile had accumulated, a horse-drawn carriage took them back to Černá Studnice.
