The Wine Salon in Valtice will shine again – Discover unforgettable experiences!

Salon vínThe Czech Republic Wine Salon presents a collection of the 100 best Moravian and Czech wines for 2026, which succeeded in competition with 2,724 wines. From Saturday, 31 February, these wines will be on display throughout the year until 18 December in the tasting exhibition of the same name in the historic cellars of Valtice Castle. Of course, the collection includes this year’s absolute champion – the 2023 Red Traminer from the Škrobák Winery – as well as the winners of other categories. The Wine Salon award is not only prestigious and symbolises the success of the winemaker, but also represents an important business opportunity. The Wine Salon is a guarantee of exceptional wine quality that deserves recognition.

In the Wine Salon, you will find 25 different varieties from 61 winemakers and wine companies, including 69 white wines, 26 red wines, 3 sparkling wines and 2 rosé wines.

The best wines for this year

vínoB\V Winery (6) has the largest representation in the current vintage, followed by Zámecké vinařství Bzenec (5). Miroslav Volařík Winery and Buchtovi Winery had four wines in the prestigious selection. Of the total number of 25 varieties, Riesling traditionally represents the largest share (14), followed by Welschriesling and Grüner Veltliner (10), Pálava (6), Chardonnay and Sauvignon (5), Gewürztraminer (4), Pinot Blanc and Grüner Veltliner (3). The most common red wines are Blaufränkisch and Pinot Noir (9), followed by Cabernet Sauvignon (4) and Merlot and cuvée (3). In addition to the golden hundred wines, which are on display throughout the year, you can also taste selected wines with a silver medal from the Salon or rosé wines and sparkling wines.

You can taste the top wines of the Czech Republic at the Wine Salon

vínoThe Wine Salon of the Czech Republic is a prestigious award for the hundred best wines, which follows on from the highest National Wine Competition in the Czech Republic, all within the framework of a system of regional nomination competitions. This competition is followed by a year-round public tasting exhibition of the hundred best wines, located in the premises of the Valtice State Castle.

The regular opening hours of the public tasting exhibition are Tuesday to Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It is open all year round except in January, when preparations for the new year’s exhibition are underway. We recommend booking visits for larger groups and guided tastings by telephone on 519 352 744. From June to September, it is also open on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

vínoThe Wine Salon cellar also includes an educational exhibition about our winery and wine regions, a hall of fame of Czech winemaking, and a reception area with a shop selling gift packaging for bottles, wine literature, tasting glasses, sommelier supplies, and wine snacks. There is also the option to purchase selected wines in limited quantities. The Wine Salon exhibition currently presents 52 wineries from Moravia and Bohemia, ranging from small winemakers to medium and large companies. For each winery, you can find a short profile, contact details and links to their wines that have been awarded a gold medal by the Czech Wine Salon.
