Experience a day as a keeper or chef at Dvůr Králové Safari Park

In the Safari Park Dvůr Králové, you can immerse yourself for an entire day in the role of an animal caretaker, explore the backstage of the zoo, or have unforgettable moments during an African safari at sunset. By purchasing any experiential program, you will also significantly help the zoo and your favorite animals. You can try staying overnight at the local Safari Camp. The experiential programs can be bought online, either through direct ordering or by purchasing a gift certificate on the zoo’s website.

Becoming a Zoo Caretaker

You can pet a giraffe, wash a crocodile, shake hands with a lemur, or feed the big cats. For one day, you can step into the shoes of a caretaker and understand the behind-the-scenes work at the zoo and the daily lives of exotic animals. Being an animal caretaker is likely a childhood dream for your loved ones, and you have the chance to make it come true. This unique experience is available only for individuals over 18 years who are in good physical condition. You might observe a veterinary procedure, witness the care of a baby animal, or experience another significant event since no day at the safari park is the same. The cost of this experience is 6,850 CZK, and you can also bring a companion for an additional fee of 1,640 CZK.

You can even see giraffes up close in the Giraffe Eye-to-Eye program. This program is open to children accompanied by an adult. The price is 420 CZK in the winter season and 570 CZK in the summer season.

Becoming a Chef at the Zoo

At the Safari Park, you also have the option to become a chef for a day. You’ll get a glimpse into the kitchen where meals for the animals are prepared, and you can actually prepare the food and serve it to the animals yourself.

Only adults can participate in the chef program, which runs from April to October on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is 3,900 CZK, and this includes lunch at the Lemur Restaurant.

Evening Safari

Discover the magic of the African dusk! Experience the atmosphere of an evening Africa Express ride among large herds of animals. Observe rhinos, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes as the sun sets. You’ll meet lions and cheetahs lurking in the shadows of the approaching night. Prepare for a ride unlike any other you will find in Europe. The evening ride, particularly at dusk, will remind you of truly being in the African wilderness during warm summer nights, offering you the most affordable trip to Africa. You can also stay overnight at the Safari Hotel or Camp. This experience is inspired by evening rides in the Kalahari and Kruger National Parks in South Africa. The Africa Express ride or Safari Bus ride around the enclosures and African safari where you will be directly among the animals lasts for 50 minutes, and on your journey, you will see over 600 African animals across 50 different species. Rides are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays in June and September, as well as daily during the summer holidays, at around 8 and 9 PM. Adults will pay 285 CZK, while children will pay 225 CZK.

Offroad Safari

Just you, the herds of animals and a knowledgeable guide. Enjoy a ride in a 4×4 vehicle. Experience the morning or evening among the herds on the Serengeti plains. When a zebra comes up to greet you from just an arm’s length away, you’ll be left breathless. You can end your evening ride with a genuine African dinner after returning from the wild.

The Offroad ride is organized from May to September for individuals and groups, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide right among the free-roaming animals, concluding with stylish African dinner. You will see herds of antelope, zebras, giraffes, and wildebeests, as well as lions and cheetahs, all reminiscent of the African savanna. The cost for adults including dinner is 2,440 CZK, without dinner it’s 1,650 CZK, and for children, it’s 800 CZK.
