Join the Fun on International Tourist Guide Day: Explore Fascinating Tours in Brno

Since 1990, the International Tourist Guide Day in tourism has been celebrated globally on 21 February. Initially, 15 countries participated in this celebration, and today even more nations recognize the invaluable contributions of tour guides. Czechia has also become part of this celebration. In 2026, Brno will hold festivities over the weekend, on the 21st and 22nd of February. The official opening ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Town Hall courtyard. Figuring out the city is quite enjoyable, so we suggest planning a walking tour soon.
The event, which was established by the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations, seeks to provide not only entertainment but also to showcase the crucial roles that tour guides play.
Brno celebrates the entire weekend
On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February, there will be a total of twenty-nine tours available in Brno, including one tour each conducted in English, German, and Ukrainian.
Some of the tour topics include exploring the New and Old Town Halls, Zelný trh, fascinating legends, the shelter, discovering Brno a century ago, and even literary Brno. You are invited to take a pleasant stroll around Oltec, follow the paths of the French, or explore Královo Pole. There is also a special tour designed for children.
The duration of the tours ranges from 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the specific theme selected. You can enjoy a guided exploration of the city for a modest fee of 30 CZK. You can purchase tickets in advance at the Information Centres located under the crocodile at Radnická 8 and the Zámečnická Information Centre, as well as online. If you happen to miss this year’s event, TIC Brno offers a wide variety of themes throughout the year with their AutenTIC tours.
