Helfštýn Castle Welcomes Visitors Every Weekend in March

HelfštýnDuring the weekends in March, Helfštýn Castle will be open to visitors, just like it was in the past. This impressive castle rises majestically above the Moravian Gate valley.

The whole Helfštýn site includes many buildings that served various purposes, both for use and for defense. Currently, it has four courtyards accessible to the public, alongside five gates, multiple bastions, towers, and a vast network of fortifications, both inside and outside. This castle complex is one of the largest in Europe in terms of physical size. You can explore the castle at your own pace throughout March, but from April onwards, guided tours will be provided.

Helfštýn CastleStarting in April, the castle will host special events! It will kick off with traditional Easter celebrations. The castle will be open exceptionally from April 3rd to 6th. During the Easter holiday, expect an entertaining and educational program to complement the festivities, along with a sales exhibition featuring traditional crafts throughout the weekend. Additionally, as part of the International Day of Monuments and Historic Sites on April 18th, entry to Helfštýn will be free all day long.

Experience a year filled with events at Helfštýn

HelfštýnAs part of the program called The Palace Lives…, special night tours of Helfštýn are planned. These tours will feature an extraordinary lineup. Stroll through the beautifully lit castle, including the newly reopened palace, observe master blacksmiths crafting in the third courtyard, sample coffee straight from the roastery, and enjoy the musical atmosphere. You are invited to the first of these unique experiences on April 25th, when the scent of coffee will fill the Palace.

The castle offers guided tours from April 1st until the end of October for groups of at least five individuals. The last tour of the day starts one hour before the castle closes. In addition to the events already mentioned, the castle administration is also preparing for the 16th annual military history festival, the Helfštýn Pilgrimage, and the international blacksmiths’ gathering known as Hefaiston.
