Experience the Magic of the Gingerbread Cottage near Pardubice as the New Season Begins This First Saturday in March

Join us for a festive celebration on Saturday 7 March 2026 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, as we commemorate the 23rd official birthday of Mrs Ježibaba. After her two-month winter nap starting New Year’s Day, she will be waking up to celebrate her birthday joyfully. Come visit the Gingerbread Cottage and witness hundreds of exquisite gingerbread cookies, all beautifully decorated and shaped using wooden molds. Mrs. Ježibaba will proudly display her incredible skills to both children and adults.

And don’t worry, children won’t be in danger of being eaten by Mrs Ježibaba. Everyone who is well-informed knows that the Ježibaba from the Gingerbread Cottage does not eat children. The story that she tried to eat Hansel and Gretel is just a myth! In truth, she was only protecting her home, and she lit the fire in the oven based on the ancient saying: “Whoever lies and steals will go to hell! Through the fiery path, through the burning oven…”.

Mrs Ježibaba, the witch enjoys preparing pork dishes for herself as well as for the guests at the Gingerbread Kingdom, z. s. You will find a delightful pork feast at the cozy restaurant U všech čertů. If the butcher is brave enough to handle the pig, you will see how approved pork is transformed into sausages, boiled pork, goulash, blood sausage, and brawn. And you will have the chance to taste these treats, but only until the limited supply of freshly made products runs out! To cap off the day, Ježibaba will be presented with a cake, and she would be thrilled if you could join us and personally congratulate her on her special birthday!
