A Green Easter with a refreshing green beer – Discover the highlights!

Spring is a season bursting with colour, and this is reflected not only in Easter eggs but also in exceptional green beers. These refreshing beers are brewed using high-quality water, barley malt, hops and various herbs. The brewing process involves a two-mash brew. Hops are added to the wort kettle, and during brewing, an herbal infusion is also added, which is obtained by steeping many types of herbs, including nettles, in hot water. Green beer is usually available from Maundy Thursday (this year 2 April 2026) and is sold only for a limited time, until stocks run out.
You have been able to enjoy Green Thirteen during the Easter holidays for twenty years now, and it is available wherever Starobrno is on tap. During brewing, a carefully measured herbal infusion from the brewers of Staré Brno is added to the wort kettle. This special beer gains its strength through bottom fermentation, which lasts eight days, and is then finished off at a temperature of around one degree Celsius. This gives it a full-bodied flavour and its characteristic aroma. Finally, a liqueur is mixed into the beer. The beer’s green colour is the result of a combination of various factors – technology, ingredients, herbs and the liqueur added to the beer at the end.
The Ježek Brewery in Jihlava has prepared a special Krasličák for fans of unconventional beer. This strong green 14° beer will refresh you not only on Maundy Thursday. Furthermore, Hradecký Klenot produces an Easter green beer at 12°, known as Nefiltrovaný Klenot. This is also the origin of the 12° Spring Beer, which comes from the Primátor Brewery in Náchod. It is a bottom-fermented lager with a distinctive golden-green colour, which is the result of adding natural young green barley to the beer.
Spring 11° beers in green
The Moravia Brewery in Brno-Medlánky also offers a very pleasant 11° beer, which contains natural herbal extract from nettles. At the Regent Brewery in Třeboň, they add five different herbs and Třeboň Chlorella to their Easter lager. This beer has been named Spring Green and has been available since 13 March 2026! Litovel Brewery traditionally brews green beer first to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and then again at Easter. This unique green lager is called Patrik 11° and its flavour is delicately balanced by seven carefully selected herbs, complemented by exotic notes of oranges and lemons. It is not yet clear whether they will brew it in 2026. A green lager from the Ferdinand Brewery in Benešov will also be available in the spring. Its green colour comes from a natural dye derived from chlorophyll, which is found in spring grasses.
