Discover the Záchranka app: Your reliable partner in times of crisis

However, it’s not just about the numbers. Behind every call lies a human story, often involving a critical situation in which the Záchranka app played a crucial role. The developers are, of course, delighted that people can rely on Záchranka and that for many it has become an essential part of emergency communications. It therefore appears that technology can serve not only individuals but also strengthen the wider system of saving lives.
What started as a simple emergency button – the first to enable the caller’s location to be sent immediately to the emergency medical services control centre – has, over the years, evolved into a sophisticated platform packed with useful features that help protect the health and lives of its users. Today, thanks to the Záchranka app team, you can, for example, connect with paramedics via video call, communicate via chat in situations where you cannot speak, or use the universal SOS button for various types of emergencies.
The Záchranka app has also expanded abroad. Versions of the app are now operational in Hungary, Slovakia– in the Slovak mountains – and Austria, whilst the Czech Záchranka is fully compatible with these apps. It is now also connected to the Finnish 112 emergency line. In the future, the plan is for people to be able to use a single app to call for help anywhere in Europe, sending their location and important information to the local control centre.
News and outlook
In the field of first aid education, the app is supported by a wide community, ranging from individuals to large organisations such as the Czech Red Cross (ČČK). Collaboration with these partners helps to raise awareness of first aid and how to respond correctly in emergency situations.
The app is also evolving as an information tool. It provides users with an overview of the nearest medical care, a database of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and various first aid procedures that can be very useful. There is also an alert system that provides information on emergencies, extreme weather and other crisis situations.
In addition to new features in the areas of training and public awareness, the Záchranka app is also continuing its technological development. Looking ahead, it is focusing primarily on improving communication between people in distress and emergency services, expanding features for the rapid and accurate transfer of information, and enhancing the role of modern technologies in crisis management. The app now extends well beyond the borders of the Czech Republic, and it is possible to call for help through it in five other European countries as well.
