Amaryllis Blooms Return to Třeboň Castle – Must-See Activities!

This year, from 21 March to 6 April 2026, you can enjoy the Amaryllis and Hats exhibition at Třeboň State Castle.
Beautiful amaryllis flower arrangements will decorate the exhibition inside the castle. Visitors can see a display of floral arrangements and a collection of different varieties of this well-known flower at the Třeboň exhibitions, specifically on tour route B (Private Schwarzenberg Apartments). In the castle stables, anyone interested in gardening can buy bulbs of this lovely flower as well as other flowers.
Each year the flower show showcases a new theme. Last year’s themes included Amaryllis and commedia dell’arte. This year’s exhibition will highlight hats, which will complement the floral displays in the Schwarzenberg apartments. The exhibition features hats loaned from JUDr. Marie Mazánková from Litovel, Ohrada Castle (National Museum in Prague), the Campanello dance troupe, and the Kajetán theatre company.
Don’t miss this chance to visit the floral castle with the head florist Slávek Rabušic. He will share insights about how the exhibition was designed, which flowers are featured this year, tips on how to take care of the stunning and luxurious amaryllis, and other fascinating details from the world of floristry.
The Renaissance Třeboň Castle is located where there was once a manor, then a fortress, and later a stone keep. In 1562, a fire damaged the castle after it spread from the town. The estate’s owner at the time, Vilém of Rožmberk, then started to rebuild the castle into a Renaissance chateau, and his successor, Petr Vok, finished the work. In 1660, the chateau came into the possession of the Schwarzenberg family, who restored it after the Thirty Years’ War. Although Třeboň never again became the center of the new lords’ rule, its Renaissance beauty and the charming styles of later periods, such as Baroque and historicism, continue to shine.
