Explore Dobříš Castle: A Cultural Odyssey Beyond Exhibitions

With Easter approaching, Dobříš Castle is preparing for the start of its new tourist season. After being closed for winter, the nearby Orangery will reopen. Young children will be excited to find a play area with characters from The Mole and his friends. At the same time, older kids and adults can engage with interactive exhibits focused on topics like nature and history—such as Forest, Water, Castle Sculpture, and Castle Gardening. Additionally, the Orangery features the largest illusion mural in Central Europe.

The opening times for the French park will be extended until 5 PM. During the Easter holidays, the castle will remain open every day, including Easter Monday, and in April, it will be open from Wednesday to Sunday.

Multimedia exhibition at Dobříš Castle

Dobříš CastleIn the south wing of the castle, you can check out a modern multimedia exhibition that explores the history of the Colloredo and Mannsfeld families. The tour showcases the history of these two noble families alongside the history of the Rococo estate while highlighting the dramatic events that took place during the 20th century.

The stories of the Colloredo-Mannsfeld family are shared through six salons, a connecting corridor, and the impressive Hall of Mirrors. Some displays are styled like the traditional rooms of the castle, while others present history through museum-style exhibits and digital media. Guests can look forward to five projection screens and four large multimedia displays. The owners of Dobříš Castle played a crucial role both financially and conceptually in bringing the exhibition to life.

The new exhibition will feature the well-loved, stunning Mirror Hall and the much-anticipated Writers’ Room with period furnishings, a throwback to the era after World War II when the castle served as a Writers’ Home.
