Spring at Prague Zoo

On 28 March 2026, Prague Zoo is preparing a special event to mark the opening of its 95th season. The zoo has a rich history that goes back to 1881 when Count Sweerts-Spork made a call in the newspapers to create a zoo in Prague during the wedding of Prince Rudolf and the Belgian Princess Stephanie. For the spring season, the zoo will host exclusive guided feeding sessions and special meet-and-greet events.

The first race is scheduled to begin at 2 pm, but it’s advisable to arrive at least half an hour early. The venue opens at noon. For younger visitors, there will not only be a fun themed programme but also an outdoor children’s playground filled with attractions and (located on the ground floor of the grandstand) an indoor children’s area known as ‘Hříbátka’. Weather permitting, free pony rides will also be offered.
