Jihlava Zoo Welcomes You to an Exciting Easter and Bird Day Celebration!

What can families and animal enthusiasts expect at Jihlava Zoo? The event known as Easter at the zoo and Bird Day begins on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10 am and is included in the regular entrance fee, allowing families with kids, animal fans, and anyone enjoying a spring day out to join in on the fun.

Visitors will be delighted by an Easter market showcasing handmade crafts, traditional Easter whips, and local treats, along with creative workshops where they can engage in hands-on activities. The lively atmosphere will include an entertaining spring multi-event and commentated feeding sessions for various animals: at 10:00 am – meerkats; at 10:30 am – marabou storks; at 12:00 pm – otters; at 12:30 pm – llamas; at 2:00 pm – bears; and at 2:30 pm – babirusas, providing a fascinating glimpse into the everyday lives of these animals.

This year, birds take center stage – Bird Day includes specialized activities, games, and opportunities to meet experts who will share insights about their behaviors and the vital need for conservation efforts in nature. This year, there’s a special focus on the blackcap, which has been honored as the Bird of the Year.

In a fun twist, people named Pěnice or Pěnička get free admission on this day! Others with surnames that relate to birds will benefit from a 50% discount on their entrance fee. Additionally, if individuals with bird-themed last names sign up, they’ll have the chance to enter a raffle for bird-related prizes.

To enhance your Easter holiday experience, you can participate in a family self-service game called “Family at the Zoo.” Guests can pick up a task sheet at the ticket office to engage in exciting activities and answer questions about the animal kingdom during their visit. Simply submit the completed form by 4 pm, and children will be treated to a reward. Furthermore, every day from Thursday to Monday, one lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a new large “A Year at the Zoo” calendar.
