The cult of holy bodies in Bečov

The exhibition The Cult of Holy Bodies is being organized to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the finding of the Reliquary of St Maur and provides an in-depth look at the intricate decorations of reliquaries that contain the remains of saints, along with the practice of venerating these sacred items.
What can you look forward to? Exhibits inspired by Baroque reliquaries, which you might recognize from church interiors. You will also see realistic skeletal remains, which include patinated plaster replicas and anatomically correct plastic casts. Additionally, informative panels provide details you wouldn’t be able to catch just by looking. To top it all off, there will be demonstrations on how the exhibits and their decorative elements are made.
This exhibition is accessible for self-exploration. For a more engaging experience, you can scan the QR code and opt for an audio guide or a written exhibition guide.
