Czech MICE: Exciting Developments Unfolding in 2023!

On February 8-10, the MCE Central & Eastern Europe 2026 event took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. Over 200 professionals from the congress and incentive tourism sectors participated in a dynamic three-day program filled with B2B meetings, networking, and destination presentations. Each supplier had the opportunity for up to 28 individual business meetings. As strongly highlighted by Sandra Jankotová, manager of the Czech Convention Bureau, “86% of the participants were suppliers who had attended the event before, reflecting the high quality and efficiency of the meetings.”

Alongside the Czech Convention Bureau at MCE 2026, key partners included OREA Hotels, Panorama by Verdi, Hilton Prague, and Cubex Centrum Praha.

In early March, representatives from the Czech MICE sector followed up with an event in Budapest, tailored for associations and professional congress organizers (PCOs). “Events Club Associations Forum 2026 offers a unique opportunity focused on connecting suppliers with international association representatives and PCOs who have specific requirements,” explained Tereza Hofmanová, Director of Product Management, Research, and B2B Cooperation at CzechTourism. Feedback indicated a remarkable 100% satisfaction rate among participants.

Europe Congress events are known for their networking-centric format. The opening day features opportunities for introductions during a welcome reception and dinner, while the subsequent two days focus primarily on B2B meetings, complemented by morning destination presentations. There are also additional programs designed to enhance networking and business opportunities. At the Budapest event, Czechia stood out with its high-quality infrastructure and accessibility, along with a diverse array of regional destinations suitable for international conferences and corporate experiences, represented directly by delegates from Prague and South Moravia, as well as private entities like the Prague Congress Centre and buyers like Kuoni Tumlare Congress.

In summary, Tereza Hofmanová stated, “The participation of the Czech Convention Bureau has once again strengthened the international awareness of the Czech Republic as a modern and competitive MICE destination. We have built many new contacts and opened concrete business opportunities for the years ahead. Both events also showcased the increasing significance of Central Europe in the European MICE market.”
