Embark on a Nostalgic Journey with the Steam Train of the Posázavský Pacifik Line – Discover Exciting Activities!

Besides the stunning scenery along the railway line that runs through the picturesque valley of the Vltava and Sázava rivers, complete with tunnels, bridges, and stone viaducts, it offers nostalgic trips on the Posázavský Pacifik and gorgeous views of the landscape, making it a favorite spot for hikers, tourists, and canoe enthusiasts.

The initial service will travel over the Měchenice Bridge and through the Bojovský Stream valley heading to Čisovice. The second and third trains will pass through Davle and encounter the famous Davle tunnels, crossing the Žampach viaduct on their way to Jílové u Prahy. The Žampach viaduct is particularly notable as it is considered one of the most impressive engineering feats of the entire line – it holds the title of the largest stone railway bridge in the Czech Republic.

If you get off at Davle, make sure to check out the old iron bridge from 1905, which was featured in the war movie The Bridge at Remagen, based on actual events.

This bridge now functions as a footbridge for walkers. The history of Davle is closely tied to the river, with rafts navigating these waters since the Middle Ages and continuing until after World War II. A monument commemorating the Vltava rafters in the form of an anchor on a stone pedestal serves as a reminder of this local tradition.

Another appealing stop is Jílové u Prahy, where visitors can explore the Regional Museum, which features an exhibition about gold mining and historical tunnels, or the Military History Museum in Lešany. The Posázaví region is also home to various other attractions – romantic lookout points, campsites for hikers, and scenic walking paths by the River Sázava.
