Get Ready for Summer: Exciting Activities at Bohumín Lakes!

Bohumín is actively preparing its favorite natural swimming areas for the upcoming summer season. Each year, Kališovo Lake and Vrbické Lake attract tens of thousands of visitors, so the town consistently works on maintaining the facilities and the surrounding land during the spring.

This year, the shores of both lakes have received new topsoil to help level the most popular recreational spots. The town will also plant grass there, making it perfect for sunbathing and relaxation. At Kališovo Lake, workers have already revamped the children’s beach and the water entry points. They’ve added fresh sand and small pebbles, cleared away moss from the submerged concrete panels, and cleaned the spaces between these panels.

In the past few years, Lake Kališ has been completely transformed into a modern natural recreation area. Visitors can enjoy a snack bar, as well as access to toilets, showers, changing rooms, and a place to store their belongings. The area features a beach volleyball court, tables for table tennis, chess games, and a small Russian skittles game. A newly built bike path makes it easy to reach the water, and floating docks on the lake enhance the swimming experience further.
Vrbické Lake has also undergone some renovations and has introduced new features. The town hall has installed new attractions for children, created a paved area for food trucks and set up a CCTV system for security. A major highlight is the longest inline skating track in the area, which encircles the entire lake and can be enjoyed by skaters, runners, and cyclists.
This summer season at Lake Vrbice will also traditionally feature public events. Beginning on the first weekend in June, there will be dragon boat races, and from mid-June, a boat rental service will be available at the marina. Visitors can rent pedal boats, rowing boats, and paddleboards. This rental service will run until early September, with rental prices ranging from 120 to 280 crowns, depending on the type of boat and the duration of use.
