Czechia Rides into Paris: A Biking Adventure at the Eiffel Tower Celebrating Nature and the Tour de France!

The Czech Embassy in Paris is showcasing an exciting exhibition featuring 21 large-format photographs taken from a cyclist’s perspective. These stunning images highlight the diverse beauty of Czech regions, from picturesque wine trails and impressive monuments to breathtaking natural scenery. Visitors can see the charm of the South Bohemian pond landscape, historic towns, UNESCO heritage sites, and the scenic routes of South Moravia—all waiting to be explored on two wheels!
This project emphasizes that Czechia is not only perfect for leisurely cycling but also offers thrilling challenges for serious cyclists and large international events.
“In Czechia, everyone can find a cycling route that suits them—whether you’re an adventurous cyclist looking to tackle challenging hills or a family seeking a relaxing ride with stops for swimming or delicious meals. We boast an extensive and well-marked network of nearly 40,000 kilometers of cycle paths and lanes. Our mission has long been to make these routes visible and inspire travelers through the portal Kudy z nudy and the website designed for international tourists VisitCzechia. Events like „Deux roues, une symphonie – La Tchéquie à vélo“ also provide fantastic opportunities to showcase Czechia as an ideal destination for active holidays—offering a unique way to explore regions sustainably,” states František Reismüller, Director of the Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism. He adds, “Given its location, dense network of routes, and cycling popularity, Czechia is well-suited for active travel and major sporting events. The combination of quality facilities, accessibility, and stunning landscapes explains why our country is increasingly recognized in connection with significant international cycling events like the Tour de France.”
“We take pride in presenting Czechia in France as a cycling-friendly nation that boasts quality infrastructure and a unique blend of active adventure, culture, and nature. We believe this presentation will enhance Czechia’s appeal as a destination for active travel enthusiasts and demonstrate its capability to host major international cycling races,” adds Markéta Dianová, Director of CzechTourism’s Foreign Representation in France.
Tour de France, Czech Trophies, and Roman Kreuziger
The exhibition’s grand opening was held at the Czech Republic Embassy in Paris, attended by 130 guests from tourism, media, sports, and cycling sectors. Notable attendees included Cyrille Tricart from the Tour de France organizer Amaury Sport Organisation, Julien Bessière, Director of Škoda France, Přemysl Novák from L’Etape Czech Republic by Tour de France, and professional cyclist Roman Kreuziger, who has participated in the Tour de France ten times. Their presence highlighted the significance of this event and the strong ties between Czech cycling and the world’s most famous bike race. The evening was made even more special by the presentation of iconic Tour de France trophies, crafted by the Czech company Lasvit, accompanied by a performance from the South Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Jan Talich.
Czechia in the Spotlight in Paris
The gathering at the Embassy provided an excellent opportunity to forge new connections and further promote Czechia in the prestigious setting of the French capital, just steps away from the Eiffel Tower. The exhibition will remain on the embassy fence until the end of the Tour de France, providing a symbolic link between Czech cycling, tourism, and one of the world’s most-watched sporting events.
