Where do the owners of the castles and chateaux themselves act as guides?
During both days of the weekend, you have the chance to explore the normally off-limits areas of the captivating Dolní Kounice Castle and Chateau, accompanied by a personal commentary from the owner, Mr. František Zoubek. This is the very place where, over a glass of Dolní Kounice Frankovka, representatives from Moravia and Czech lands made peace; you too will have the opportunity to taste and purchase this unique wine here. This visit allows you to see parts of the castle that are otherwise not open to the public.
On Saturday, May 23, at 11:00, a special tour of Houska Castle will be led by the owner, Michaela Horová. Tours hosted by the owner will also be available on both Saturday and Sunday at Neustupov Castle in the Benešov region, which is one of the latest privately owned properties to open. Additionally, the Hrádek u Sušice Castle in the Pošumaví region will tempt visitors to join a tour on Saturday, May 23, led by the owner, Ing. arch. Pavel Lejsek, who will take them through the private quarters. This program includes a musical performance and refreshments available in the orangery. On Saturday, May 23, a member of the Kinský family will provide a guided tour focusing on local history at Kost Castle. Then, on Sunday, May 24, he will lead visitors around another family residence, the Karlova Koruna chateau in Chlumec nad Cidlinou.
