Get Ready for a Vibrant Celebration at Veselý Kopec: The Veselokopecký Fair is Almost Here

Visitors can look forward to the date of 18 July when the Veselokopecký Fair will take place, providing a fantastic chance to explore traditional crafts and engage with the skilled craftsmen. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to view and buy lovely handmade items in a museum that feels truly special.

Additionally, they will be able to watch craftspeople demonstrating their work and even take part by trying out various skills themselves in the workshops provided. They can expect to see authentic items made from materials like wood, ceramics, textiles, wicker, metal, and other natural sources.

The fair will also host a cultural program that includes a performance from the Groš children’s folk ensemble from Dolní Rožínka, along with a lively puppet show. For younger visitors, there will be a popular historic merry-go-round. The atmosphere will be further enhanced by the cheerful tunes played by barrel organ musicians.

Visitors feeling hungry can delight in refreshments available at the ‘Na vejměnku’ pub, which is located right on the museum grounds. They can also sample a variety of traditional baked goods, smoked meats, and honey treats; the bread oven will be busy baking the ever-popular podplamenice.

Additionally, all the exhibitions located in the charming timber-framed buildings will be open for visitors, including an exhibition titled ‘A Knot Here, a Knot There, or Knotting in the Horácko Region’ and the interactive display ‘When Customs Bloom’ at the Mokrá Lhota Farmstead.

To reach Veselý Kopec, travelers can take the bus service from Pardubice to Hlinsko (and back). If you plan to drive, please follow the guidance provided by the event organizers. The Veselý Kopec Fair will be open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Admission prices are 190 Kč for adults, 120 Kč for children aged 6 to 15 years, and 170 Kč for students and senior citizens. There is also a family ticket available for 390 Kč.
