Milevsko Awaits the Excitement of St. Bartholomew’s Fair and Town Celebrations – Don’t Miss Out on the Fun!

MilevskoThe Milevsko Festival kicks off on Thursday, August 27 with a grand concert starting at 7:00 PM located in the monastery basilica in Milevsko. The renowned musical group Virtuosi di Praga will be taking the stage, and this concert will honor the memory of violinist and conductor Oldřich Vlček.

On Friday, August 28, festivities move to Bažantnice Park showcasing a traditional rock vibe. Musical legends like Petr Kotvald, the band Alkehol, and popular local groups Fantom and Elizabeth will perform.

Weekend Highlights for the Celebration

Milevsko Town FestivitiesOn Saturday, August 29, the stage will be graced by Janek Ledecký, Jakub Děkan, the band Protheus, along with Fusky Dus and Pět devítin.

Families can look forward to an action-packed Saturday programme that includes the Hunters’ Festival. There will be a diverse lineup filled with games, competitions, and lots of fun. Kids can enjoy a disco, see sports demonstrations and dance performances, plus opportunities to try different sports, take part in creative workshops, and bounce around on a bouncy castle. The exciting ‘Washing Machine’ inflatable attraction from Elektrowin will also be present. People of all ages will have the chance to explore firefighting equipment, watch impressive firefighting demonstrations, take on obstacle courses, and even try their hand at shooting air rifles or spraying water with bucket pumps. Additionally, the programme will offer rope activities, lessons in first aid, and an educational corner full of fascinating facts.

On Sunday, August 30, there will be a folk-themed event hosted in the amphitheatre at the Community Centre. Bands like Kovačka, Bohemia, and Pepovanka will be entertaining the crowd. Additionally, there will be a contest for the best festival cake, featuring a special guest, Láďa Hruška. He will not only judge the delicious desserts but also share some of his culinary tips and tricks.

Beyond the varied activities slated for the amphitheatre, festival-goers can enjoy the third edition of the popular Street Food Festival. Here, visitors can indulge in a wide selection of both sweet and savory specialties, along with unique drinks and international treats. This year also introduces a new Art Market, featuring original fashion, jewelry, minerals, and handcrafted items.
