Diljit is a major star in contemporary South Asian pop culture. Known as both a singer and actor, he has carved out a significant space in the Punjabi music scene and Bollywood. With his songs amassing a staggering nine billion streams, he boasts over 26 million followers on Instagram. In 2023, he made history by being the first artist to perform an entire set in Punjabi at the Coachella Festival.
During the European leg of his tour, the CzechTourism agency took the opportunity to promote the beauty of the Czech Republic to Indian and international markets. The initiative showcased Prague alongside the stunning natural landscapes of Northern Bohemia and local cuisine. This allowed Diljit to explore the country at his leisure, sharing his experiences with fans in a unique and personal way.
Narnia on the Way to Prague
After his concert in Berlin, Diljit first visited the breathtaking Tisá Walls. This remarkable rock formation is one of northern Bohemia’s most stunning sites and even featured in the filming of The Chronicles of Narnia.
Next, he moved on to Prague, where he took in the city’s charm from various perspectives. He enjoyed a tour of the historic center in a vintage car, marveled at the scenery on a boat cruise along the Vltava River, and visited iconic spots like Charles Bridge and the Lennon Wall. He also took the chance to savor delicious Czech dishes.
Resonance far beyond India’s borders
The videos and posts shared by Diljit and his team on Instagram have now garnered over 10 million views, and that number keeps climbing. This isn’t just a collection of attractive images; it’s a personal travel narrative that allows fans to see Czechia through the lens of one of today’s most influential stars in music and film.
