In this new venture, the Runczech.com Prague International Marathon now provides athletes with 6 different races in 4 of the beautiful cities of the Czech Rep. Whether you select the large city race in historical Prague, or the quaint race in the evening in baroque Olomouc, a race in the Czech Rep will be an unforgettable event for both you and your friends and family.

The Runczech.com circuit for running starts on the 31st March, with the Hervis Half-Marathon in Prague, which has been run for thirteen years and is among Europe’s top running races. You, too, ought to try this course, as it is among the world’s quickest. The race’s route starts in Prague’s historical centre and passes along the Vltava river. The most popular monuments in the city will be displayed, like Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, the Jewish Quarter and the Rudolfinum concert hall.

International Marathon in PragueShould you desire a greater challenge, then on the 13th May the Volkswagen Marathon in Prague is being run. Join the other athletes from eighty nine countries and compete in possibly the most picturesque marathon course on the planet! The race starts and finishes on the famous Old Town Square, right  underneath the Astronomical Clock. This course passes through the medieval hub of Prague and will also take you through other areas. You might actually need to slow down a little to appreciate the stunning historical sites while you are running the race!

Prague is, undeniably, a wonderful city, but its real beauty is only truly evident at night-time. The Mattoni Grand Prix in Prague, on the 8th September, will allow you to sample this magnificent city’s magical ambience. Take your family and friends and experience an evening run through Prague’s well-illuminated streets. Both novice and experienced runners will like this course, because there are both five and ten kilometre distances to suit all preferences. You do not have to record your best ever time to make this an exceptional race, because the city and its’ amazing ambience will do this for you!

For sporty travellers who might enjoy discovering other areas in the Czech Rep, the Runczech.com circuit for running provides 3 additional races in Bohemia and Moravia, with their enchanting atmosphere and rich culture.

Prague MarathonOn the 23rd June, the Volkswagen Half-Marathon in Olomouc will offer the perfect way to make your holiday with family and friends memorable. You can compete in the half-marathon, or in any of the lesser distances, to sample the summer running through this baroque, Moravian city, renowned for its’ Holy Trinity Column, distinctive astronomical clock and array of churches, along with other divine landmarks.

It is also worth visiting Bohemia, and this region can be best explored on foot. Experience north Bohemia’s beauty on the 16th September and run in the Volkswagen Half-Marathon in Ústí, or compete in the Volkswagen Half-Marathon in České Budějovice on the 9th June. This is hosted in South Bohemia’s biggest city, famous for being the birthplace of  Budweiser’s original beer!
