Botanic Gardens

Troja not only hosts a large zoo and Chateau Troja, but there is also the city’s botanic gardens, hidden in the woods to the north of the chateau. The botanic gardens feature a vineyard, a Japanese garden, several glasshouses and great views over Prague. The garden is under continuous development, and new expositions are emerging. Hidden in the woods a little higher up the hill, there’s also a spectacular, curvaceous greenhouse, Fata Morgana (same hours but closed Mon), with butterflies flitting about amid the desert and tropical plants.

Open: March 9am-5pm; April-Oct 9am-6pm; Nov-Feb 9am-4pm. Admission: 120 CZK. Guided tours in foreign languages are possible. website
